Modules for farmer mental wellbeing

The Mind Maintenance Toolkit is here to help. This online, self-paced series of eight modules is designed to fit around your schedule, offering practical tools and strategies to maintain your mental wellbeing.

Module topics at a glance
- What is wellbeing? – Introduces the concept of wellbeing and illustrates the positive outcomes experienced by thriving communities
- The ebbs and flows of farming life – Takes a look at the positives of farming life and various challenges
- Flow on effects of farmer health – Explores the impact when someone is unwell (physically or mentally), or injured in a farming workplace
- Stress and its impacts – Describes what stress is, how it shows up in your body and mind, and how you can manage it
- Understanding mental health – Defines the concept of mental health and explains what poor mental health and mental illness may look like in everyday life
- Supporting someone in distress – Offers guidance on how to recognise the signs that someone is struggling and ways to support them
- Planning tools to support you – Provides practical ways to reflect, take stock and plan ahead for wellbeing – both on and off the farm
- Creating a healthy happy workplace – A farmer-friendly introduction to the benefits of addressing work-related risks to mental health
How to Access the Modules
The modules are hosted on the Moodle learning management system, and it’s easy to get started.
First you will need to set up a National Centre for Farmer Health Moodle account.
You can can complete the modules:
- Via your web browser
- Or on your smartphone or tablet by downloading the Moodle app from your app store — just search ‘Moodle’, then log in with your username and password




Make sure you enrol in the course so you can save your progress and pick up where you left off anytime.
